Survey Monkey Results

This result has shown that 70% of the people surveyed have said that they see the best location to be the forrest/woods area, with the haunted house coming in a close second with the rest of the votes.

The audience believed that it was best to have minimal characters in a thriller trailer; 80% of the votes were cast for minimal, 20% for maximum.

A majority of the votes from the audience said that they would prefer there to be mainly general dialogue within the trailer.

All of the audience's feedback for the importance of sound was reflected by their votes as being very important or extremely important - this must be considered carefully when constructing my trailer.

All of the audience's responses showed that for this question a murder or some sort of violet act should be inflicted during the course of the film - this can be hinted at during the trailer as it also help to anchor the fact that this trailer is classified in the mystery thriller / horror genre.

All the the audience feedback suggest they want to feel scared and tense throughout the film.

All of the feedback suggest holding up to convention is key especially in a thriller film as this is key in the steps of the "Theory of Equilibrium". There must be an equilibrium to disrupt and then restored  at the end of the film - therefore sticking to convention allows me to follow this theory.

All audience feedback members stated that fast paced editing was key in keeping the trailer engaging. This also backs up the point of wanting to feel scared and tense throughout the trailer - both of these aspects interlink and will create a better outcome for the trailer.

Most people said they want the protagonist to be brave and courageous - to have the mentality of fight rather than flight.

Interestingly, the majority of people said that neither a male nor female is preferable and that they are both equally as likely to play the role. However those who did chose a specific gender chose female. This may be because typically females follow the archetype of 'a damsel in distress' in thriller/horror films and therefore usually play the victim in a protagonist role.
